Bhor: Heavy rains have lashed Bhor taluka for the last three days and a married youth who went for a swim in the Sivaganga river has been swept away. The search for the missing youth has been going on for the last two days. However, due to the ongoing rains, the increasing flow of water is creating difficulties in the search operation.
Gram Panchayat member Nana Jadhav informed that Rajgad police, village youths and fishermen as well as youths from Bhoi community in Bhor were searching for Salim in the Sivaganga river basin. But, it still hasn’t come together.
Sub-inspector Nikhil Magdoom informed that the search operation was being hampered due to increased flow of water in the river-nala due to the on-going rains. Inspector of Police Sandeep Ghorpade, Assistant Inspector of Police Manoj Kumar Navsare, Sub-Inspector Nikhil Magdoom, Constables Satish Chavan, Umesh Jagtap and Khanderao Thathele rushed to the spot and the search operation is still going on.
Salim Sultan Sheikh age 29, Ra. Kanjle (Tal. Bhor) is the name of the youth who was swept away in the river Shivganga. The incident took place near the cremation ground of Sivaganga river at around 3.30 pm on the 22nd. Salim Sheikh had gone for a swim with his friend Navnath Jadhav. This time, Salim was alone in the river taking off his clothes and going for a swim. However, the search is on as Salim was not seen swimming.
