In Keshavnagar, Mundhwa, Pune limits of the city, 888 kg of chloral hydride (C H) chemicals as well as saccharin and citric acid were seized from 7,31,590 kg. A Mahindra Bolero used for transportation has also been seized.
Pralhad Ranganath Bhandari (57 years old, resident of Shit Rang Niwas Ghar No. 137, No. 5, Keshavnagar, Pune and Narendra Bharat Kale, 25 years old, resident of Gairan Vasti, Keshavnagar, Pune) would have been arrested and produced before the Army Court in this case. He has been remanded in police custody till July 26.
The action was taken under the guidance of State Excise Commissioner Kantilal Umap, Director Smt. Usha Verma, Divisional Deputy Commissioner Prasad Surve and District Superintendent Santosh Zagde. This action has been taken by Dattatraya Makar, Deputy Inspector, State Production Department, Navnath Markad, Deputy Inspector, Hanumant Indalkar, Assistant Deputy Inspector, Jawan Gopal Kande, Madhav Made, Jairam Kachra and Sharad Handgar and further investigation is being done by Shri Nandkumar Jadhav.
